God is waiting for us. He gives us the freedom to live without him—with all the consequences. But he also offers us the chance to be part of his family. He wants to be our Father and has allowed his Son, Jesus Christ, to become our brother. Jesus opened the door to the Father for us. Now God is waiting. He is waiting for us to speak with him, for us to turn to him. Help is already available—in every situation. Even if we don't see anything yet, we may, can, and should already thank God for what he has done and is still doing. In Psalm 103, the psalmist lists what we can always thank God for. And Psalm 50 tells us that thanksgiving is a praise of God that has consequences: it opens the door to God's blessing and help—we experience God's salvation. Perhaps not exactly what we asked for, but much more, much more comprehensive: God's salvation. Blessing, grace, help, rescue.  Gott wartet auf uns. Er lässt uns die Freiheit, ohne ihn zu leben - mit allen Konsequenzen. Er bietet uns aber auch an, Teil seiner Familie zu sein. Er will unser Vater sein und hat seinen Sohn, Jesus Christus, zu unserem Bruder werden lassen. Der hat die Tür zum Vater für uns geöffnet. Nun wartet Gott. Er wartet darauf, dass wir mit ihm sprechen, dass wir uns ihm zuwenden. Hilfe steht schon bereit - in allen Lebenslagen. Auch wenn wir noch nichts sehen, dürfen und können und sollen wir Gott schon danken für das, was er getan hat und noch tut. In Psalm 103 listet der Beter auf, wofür wir Gott immer danken können. Und Psalm 50 sagt uns, dass Dank ein Lobpreis Gottes ist, das Folgen hat: es öffnet die Tür für Gottes Segen und Hilfe - wir erleben das Heil Gottes.  At the end of the day, many of us carry thoughts, worries and unanswered questions. An evening prayer can be a simple way to let go, to find peace and to rest in trust. The well-known hymn “Evening Prayer” reminds us of protection, comfort and the presence of God – even in the quiet of the night. “Spread wide your wings around me…” These words express a deep human longing: to be safe, to be guided, to not be alone. Taking a moment in the evening to pause, reflect and pray can change how we end the day – and how we begin the next one.
